Oregon trip- getting there

The sunday after school got out, the kids, my mom, and I packed up the  car and headed on a road trip to Oregon.  We spent the first night in Boise and picked up Aunt Nancy.  On the way to Boise we stopped at Malad Gorge State Park.  We weren't expecting much, so we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the park was.  First we walked to some over looks to look into the gorge at some waterfalls. We also saw a pond and a spring.  The spring was pretty cool because as we walked closer to the source the water kept getting warmer and warmer.

After a night at Nancy's we all packed into the car to head to the coast.  Our first stop was Multnomah Falls.  Last year they had a devastating fire in the Columbia River Gorge, so we weren't able to hike to the falls, just check it out from the lower view point.  It is so pretty and made a nice break to get out of the car. It was super crowded though so we didn't get great pictures.

After the falls we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Vocana's house where we dropped the 3 girls off to spend the week.
The rest of us, Liam, my mom, Nancy and I drove the rest of the way to the coast where we spent the 4 fun filled days.
