Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we packed up the car and headed up to the cabin for the weekend.  We met Dan and his family and also brought Jake the Dog with us because my parents were out of town.  The ride up was uneventful, but as soon as we turned onto the road that the cabin is on Jake got super excited and had to look out the window.  I took a picture because my Dad missed Jake and I had to share what he was doing.

 Thursday morning we woke up, had breakfast and started to prepare for the feast.  Dan did most of the cooking, so Liam and I took Jake for a walk.  It was cold, but still a nice walk.

 The kids spend the day coloring, doing crafts, playing games, and watching movies.

 It was really cold, so we had a fire.  Even with the fire we snuggled up in blankets.

 That night was cloudy, but the moon was so pretty shining through the clouds onto the lake.  The picture doesn't do it justice, the lake looked like it was made of silver.

 The next day it had snowed a little, but we still took Jake for a walk.  This time Liam and I were joined by Ellie and Sophie.

Later that day we drove to Kemmerer Wyoming to the Fossil Butte National Monument.  They have a really cool visitors center with fossils that have been found in the area.  The area used to be a giant lake and there are a lot of big, well preserved fossils.  It was really cool to see.

 The next day there was a little more snow and we managed to sled down the driveway at the cabin.  It wasn't the best sledding, but the kids had fun.

 We left of Sunday and were excited to put our Christmas tree up.  Jake is a super great traveler and just hung out in the car with the kids.  It was a great holiday with lots of fun, family and food.

 Maya is doing a science fair project on light pollution so Monday night we drove up the canyon to get some pictures of the stars.  It is amazing the difference between the brightness of the stars at home versus 15 minutes away up the canyon.  I got this great shot of the moon while we were up there.
