Summer Fun

 Here are some pictures of what we've been up to the last part of the summer.  They are all out of order for some reason.

My friend Jenny got a new pool and we went over once a week.  She has kids that get along great with my  kids.  We would usually spend all afternoon swimming and hanging out.  It's nice to have a good friend with a pool.

Kyle and Ellie went on trek at the end of July.  They had to leave pretty early, but Ellie was still excited to go.

We ended up spending the night before trek at my parents house because of some electrical issues, so we were able to get a picture with Papa who also went to trek as a cook for his ward.  Sometimes it's pretty awesome to be in the same stake as my parents.  The kids get to do cool things like trek with a grandparent.

During trek I took the rest of the kids and my mom to the cabin to escape our house.  We didn't have ac or power because of some major electrical problems.  At the time, we didn't know what was going on and I didn't want to deal with it while Kyle was away so the cabin was a great escape.  It was low key, but super fun.  Sophie and Maya didn't go on trek, but they were able to come to the cabin.  It was so nice to spend time with them.  They worked so much this summer that I felt like I hardly saw them so a couple days with them was just what I needed.

Ellie on trek.  Trek was hard, but Ellie had a great time.  The first night there was a huge storm but everyone stayed safe and dry.  Ellie said she would love to go on another trek some day.  I'm glad she had fun because when Maya and Sophie went 3 years ago they didn't really like it and never wanted to go again which is why I didn't make them go this year.

Allie and Sanchit were at the cabin with us and one night we took Jake and Allie's new dog Kaya to the lake.  The dogs had so much fun chasing each other in the water.  Kaya liked to roll around in the sand after she would get out of the water.

Jake at the beach.  Liam and Claire went out in the water and skipped rocks while the rest of us stayed on the sand.  After we went and got delicious Italian Ice.

More trek.

Tim and Aaron stayed a couple of extra weeks after Scott and others went home.  They spent most of the time with their other cousins, but we did get several days with them.  Some of them went to the natural history museum one day, we took them swimming with us, they hiked with Macha, and Maya took the 4 boys to the temple.  Maya had tried to get an appointment, but there was nothing available at the temples within an hour from our house.  Maya's friend had an appointment and had invited Maya and Ellie to go.  Ellie wasn't feeling great, she was getting over a cold and had spent the day at ballet camp, so Maya asked if Aaron would like to go because he had never gone and doesn't live super close to a temple.  At the last minute, Maya's friend called and had 3 more spots.  They were at Dan's house when she got the call so the boys all changed and were able to go. I'm so glad that Tim and Aaron were able to go to the temple while they were here.  It was a little strange to watch Maya drive off with 4 of her cousins.  When they got home we had dinner and then Maya went to the store for ice cream.  Maya's had her licence for a year but sometimes it's still a little strange to send her off to do errands.
