August

We had a great August.  The pictures posted backwards, so we'll start at the end of the month.

The last weekend in August Ellie and I went to the cabin.  We wanted to kayak one more time before summer ended.

We had a great time Kayaking.  Nancy went with us.  She had never been kayaking before and she ended up falling in the water.  We got her back in the kayak and continued on.

Ellie took lots of breaks to swim.  The weather was perfect and the water felt nice.
Ellie and my mom went swinging.

Jake chases squirells.
The moon was beautiful.
The kids started school.  Liam is the only one at the middle school.  He is in 7th grade and so far likes it ok.
Sophie is a senior and Ellie is a freshmen.  They enjoy going to school together.
At the beginning of August Allie and Sanchit came and brought Salil   We are all in love with Salil.  He is so cute.
We got to take him to church with us the day before he left.  We loved having that time to just be with him.

We celebrated Salil's first birthday while they were there.  Salil had the flu so they weren't able to have the big party like they planned, but the family was still able to celebrate.

He was pretty dainty with the cake and Jake was just waiting for him to drop some.
This is the cute vegan cake Allie ordered.  They also had a non vegan cake, but the vegan one was so much cuter.

We got to take him swimming.  He loved it.

Liam is loving being on a competition soccer team.
Ellie has had really bad allergies this year and she's had some bad, scary reactions as well so we went to get her tested to see what she is allergic to.  She is allergic to grass, trees, dust, cats, and dogs.  She is also mildly allergic to weeds.  Fortunately we can keep our cat as long as he doesn't go in Ellie's room and she doesn't pet him.  We also got her an air purifier for her room and that has also helped.
She is severely allergic to grass.  She can't even sit on it without getting these huge puss filled welts that take weeks to go away.  Her grass welt from the testing took weeks to go away and it still hurts a little.
Ellie was pretty miserable after the testing.  At the allergist the put cream on her back and she had benedryl, but she was still in a lot of pain and super itchy.  She spent the rest of the day in bed.

Poor Ellie! I've had that test done several times too! No fun!!
Good to know what she should avoid though, and glad you got her an air purifier too!
