Liam

Liam is back to playing basketball.  Kyle is coaching again this year.  Liam has improved and is enjoying it.  He has several friends on his team.  The team is not very good, but they are learning.
Last Sunday and Monday Liam got pretty sick.  He kept vomiting and couldn't keep anything in his stomach.  This was really scary because we couldn't get his blood sugar above 70 for about 4 hours.  We got really close to taking him to the hospital for a glucose drip, but called the Dr. and he told us to try mini doses of Glucagon.  Glucagon is what we have for emergencies in case he ever looses consciousness or seizes.  You can give small doses of glucagon when they are sick and can't keep food down.  It took several hours and 2 doses, but we were finally able to get his BG up and stay up.  It was a really rough night of very little sleep, but we avoided the hospital.  We've been fighting his diabetes since, we can't seem to get him stable, but he is feeling better and back at school.  This is the sickest he's been since diagnoses and the closest we've come to a hospital visit.  Now we just have to try and keep everyone else in the house healthy.
