The Friday after Christmas we headed up to the cabin to bring in the New Year. It was snowy and cold, but we had lots of fun. Thursday we went sledding. There was enough snow at the cabin that we were able to sled right there. The kids had a ton of fun, especially Liam. He loves the snow.
Kyle starting the track out. The snow was deep and fluffy so we had to carve out a track before the kids could sled.
Sophie heading down.Liam and Ellie shared a sled and by the looks on their faces they had a great time.
We built a little jump to help slow the kids down so they didn't go too far down the hill.
I took Jake for a walk because he was driving everyone crazy.
Liam and Ellie at the end of an exciting run.
My mom decided to try the sledding out.
My mom and Sophie had a good run, but that was the only run my mom went on.
Sunday after church we wanted to go snowshoeing, but it was too windy. Ellie and I strapped our snowshoes on and went around the cabin, but the wind drove us in.
Monday was cold (9degrees) but we went snowshoeing anyway. It was really fun. It took a while for the kids to get into it, but in the end they were all smiles and having a great time.
The group minus Kyle who was taking the picture.
A closeup of the group.
That night we were tired, but the kids were determined to stay up until midnight. We spent some time reading, playing games, setting off fireworks and watching a movie. The elderly (My parents, Nancy and Jon) went to bed early but the Vocana's made it to midnight. Everyone was tired on the way home but the good thing was they all went to bed early on New Years Day.
My Dad put on an amazing fireworks show. it was better than the ones we see at Raspberry Days.
We had a great trip and the kids are all back into school. We are hoping for a great 2019.
