For Labor Day Weekend we headed up to the cabin and had lots of fun. My parents, Nancy and Dan and family were there as well. We swam, played tennis, basketball, played lots of games and watched movies.
On Saturday The girls and I took a painting class with Dan and Claire. It was so much fun and we all want to take another class some time.
We played BINGO. No one won anything, but it was still a lot of fun.We also had Smore's. They were delicious and it was a great way to end the summer.
Last Saturday Ellie auditioned for Nutcracker again. She was 1/4 inch too short to move up into the next group of parts, so she had to audition for the same parts as last year. She was hoping to get a new part, but she is going to be a soldier again. She was disappointed for about a minute and then got over it and got excited. She has such a good attitude and looked for the best in the situation. She amazes me by her ability to move past disappointment and look on the bright side. She decided she was excited because she already knows the part, the hair is easy to do, it's a relaxed, fun part, and the girls that usually get the part are not the intense serious girls so they have a lot of fun. All Ellie wants to do is be in the show, dance, and have fun. Nutcracker season is crazy busy, but Ellie loves it so it is all worth it.
