Field Trip and Jake

A couple of weeks ago I got to go on a field trip with Liam to Red Butte Gardens.  It was a nice field trip and the weather was perfect.  Normally it is hot and the kids complain the whole time but we had a really mild day.  We got to go hiking and learn about different ecosystems.
Liam really did have fun, he just didn't want me to take his picture.
Liam's group.  Since I am there to take care of Liam's diabetes, I was not in charge of a group, we were put in a group with the teacher.  I like field trips this way because I get to spend time with Liam without being responsible for any one else.
Liam really hates having his picture taken.
They found tracks and were trying to figure out the animal that made them.  They decided it was a raccoon.
My Dad bought this Chewbacca mask and scared my kids one night by knocking on the garage door and then doing his Chewbacca yell when they opened the door.  It was hilarious.
My parents went out of town for a bit so we had Jake for a couple of days.  He rode in the car everywhere with me and also went to Liam's soccer game with us.  He watched the game and looked like he wanted to get out there and play with the kids.
Jake and Jimi do not get along, but we are working on that.  Jake has developed a healthy fear of Jimi so he no longer charges at him.  They can now stay in the same room as long as they keep their distance.
Ellie has also started Nutcracker rehearsals and she has been recast as a lead soldier instead of just a regular soldier.  It means she dances with the other soldiers, but she, along with 2 others, have an additional part.  She is really happy with this even though it means an extra half hour of practice each week.
