memorial day fun

A couple of weeks ago my mom came over to help Ellie clean  her room.  They threw about 3 bags of trash away.  I didn't get an after picture, but it looks amazing.
Ellie hung out with a friend social distancing style.  They played outside and stayed 6 feet apart.  It was a lot of fun for them.
We've been working on getting Maya's car ready for her.  She turns 16 in a couple of weeks, but because of the whole COVID thing we aren't sure when she will be able to get her license.  They are now allowing drivers ed, so she's doing that, but there is also a huge wait to get an appointment at the dmv.  We signed up for an appointment, but haven't been given a time yet.  Her car is running and ready.
The bumper is zip tied on.  It is defiantly a junker, perfect for a 16 year old.
Sophie in her new dress and boots.  My mom gave her the boots she bought in 1974.  They are still in good shape and are back in style.
For Memorial Day weekend we headed up to the cabin for a much needed break.  Since COVID we have had all kinds of things break on us.  Our garage door broke, our T.V. broke, our chromebook broke, windshield broke, we got a leak in our bathroom and are having to tear up the entire room to fix it, while attempting to fix the leak we cut the pipe to the toilet in the other bathroom, our water broke, and yesterday our dishwasher broke.
The pretty bushes with flowers are growing along the road that the cabin is on.
One day we went hiking up Bloomington canyon.  The lake we wanted to hike to was closed because of snow, so we just hiked up a gully following game tracks.  It was so pretty and a lot of fun.  There were a lot  of fallen trees we had to climb over which made the hike more exciting.

We also played lot's of games.

Sunday we visited the cemetery.  Here we are all in front of Brad's grave.

We also went to the Bird Refuge.  We didn't have time to hike, but we did take a drive and were able to see some pretty birds.
The weather wasn't great, it snowed and rained, but Monday the sun came out and we were able to play outside.  We got out the corn hole and played all morning.
Sophie has found a game she actually likes doing and she's gotten pretty good at it.

Ellie and Claire played in the afternoon together.
Monday night we had to come home, but we stopped in Providence (by Logan) to stop  at a grave of one of Kyle's ancestors.
It was a great weekend and we were really sad to have to come home.  We can't wait to go back up.
