Dead Meat
Maya loves eating meat. She loves steak, pork, chicken, turkey, and just about everything else in the meat category. She gets upset when I bring a pepperoni pizza home because it doesn't have enough meat on it for her. For some reason it had never dawned on her that meat comes from dead animals. A few days ago Maya and Robby had a small discussion about where meat comes from and how it's essentially dead animals. We were having turkey sandwiches for lunch on Saturday and Maya had to share with Sophie her newfound knowledge. Robby layed out the sandwiches on their plates and Maya leans over to Sophie and says "we are having dead turkey on our sandwiches today." Robby and I just about lost it because it was so funny to hear her say it like that.

that's too funny! i remember being a kid and finding that same thing out. i was traumatized and couldn't eat meat for a long time. i still have issues with it! luckily my kids think it's no big deal.
