Our first day at Disneyland was Superbowl Sunday. We got there right when the park opened and stayed until after the fireworks. When we got there, it wasn't too crowded to we were quickly able to do some rides. The lines never got super long, our longest waits were 45 minutes for Finding Nemo and 40 minutes for the Matterhorn. We were able to ride every ride we wanted to.
The family favorite was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We ended riding it about 5 or 6 times in 2 days.
We also loved the Matterhorn, but it was only open on Sunday so we only rode it once.
We didn't meet very many characters, but Ellie really wanted to meet Tinkerbell and since the line was short we went ahead and did it.
Maya's favorite ride was Small World.
For dinner we had corn dogs and fries, Liam's favorite meal.
We were able to see the electric light parade and watch the fireworks. We didn't get a seat for the parade, we didn't want to wait around for several hours, but we asked a cast member and they found us a decent place in front of the Small World ride. The kids liked parade, but it started to rain during the fireworks and they didn't like that.
We had a really great first day, and were very tired by that time we got back to our hotel room around 10:30. The kids were awesome and there was very little whining and asking for everything.
