Downtown Disney

The first weekend in February we went to Disneyland. We have been telling the kids for years that we would go, and finally we were able.  We drove, and the kids were great in the car.  Maya didn't really want to go, she didn't want to miss school, but she ended up enjoying herself.  This was the first time we had done anything like this, so we weren't sure how everyone would do, but we only had a couple of meltdowns so I consider it a success.  Kyle and I spent a lot of time planning and I think it payed off.  The thing I was really nervous about was Liam.  We didn't know how his BG  would react to the excitement and adrenaline.  I was so glad we had  the dex, because that made it so we could closely watch him.  We were able to keep things under control, but still have some  freedom with eating.  It was a really great trip.

We arrived about 3:00 on Saturday, so we checked into our hotel and headed to Downtown Disney.  We had fun walking around and looking at everything.  The kids were really excited about the lego store.  We spent some time letting the kids play with legos.
We went to eat at the Rainforest Cafe.  It is decorated like a rainforest and the kids thought that was pretty cool.  The food was pretty good, but the service was only so so.
There was Star Wars stuff all over, which Liam loved.  He was so excited to see all the Star Wars displays and toys.
We had to stop in at the ESPN zone for Kyle.  We didn't stay long, it was our last stop and we wanted to get to bed early so we could hit Disneyland nice and early the next day.
Downtown Disney was a lot of fun and a great way to start our vacation.
