June

We had a really great June.  School finished with all the kids getting excellent grades.  Right after school let out we headed up to Bear Lake for a week.  We let Sophie bring her friend Lillie and they had an awesome time.  It was such a great way to kick off the summer.
Ellie, Sophie, and Lillie at the pool.  One of the reasons we love Lillie so much is that she doesn't mind if the other kids hang around, she'll play with them.
We went to the lake one day, but it was pretty cold.  The kids went out Kayaking.  It was  Lillie's first time on a kayak and she had a great time.
Liam of course was in heaven.  Ellie and Liam built a sand castle.
Maya even had a good time.  This summer she has definitely become more of a teenager and doesn't want to hang out with us and much.  She is also not as big of a fan of the water as she used to be.
One day when we were back at home the little kids wanted to get out of the house so I took them to Scheels to ride the Ferris Wheel and look around.
Maya turned 15 on June 9 and a week later she got her learners permit.  She has been driving a bit this summer, especially with my mom.  She does pretty well, but I'm really glad she has a year to practice.
Liam got to attend Cub Country with his cub pack.  I went the first day, and Kyle went the second day.  The day I went the theme Dragon Masters and so the activities were dragon themed.
Here Liam is learning to use a sword and shield.
 Liam got to throw axes.
He learned to shoot a sling shot.  This was pretty cool for him because he has the exact same sling shot at the cabin so he learned how to use is better.
He did awesome at archery and even got a bulls eye.
They had a station where the kids learned about pets and how to take care of them. They also brought out some type of dragon/lizard and let the kids pet him.
They learned knife safety and got to participate in an obstacle course that all the kids loved.  Liams favorite part of that day was archery.  The second day Kyle went and of course took no pictures, but kyle said it was fun but not as fun as the first day.  His favorite part of that day was shooting bb guns.
At the end of the month the older girls and Kyle headed to girls camp so the other kids and I headed back up to Bear Lake with some friends.  Liam brought his good friend Nash and Ellie brought Lucy.
Nash and Liam is the pool.  They had fun together, but also didn't mind doing their own thing sometimes.  It's a really great friendship for Liam.
Lucy and Ellie are great friends.  Lucy has been to the cabin with us before and loves it.  We love having her.  She fits right into the family and is super polite and helpful.
The kids loved going of the diving board.  The pool was not very crowded so they had lots of time on the diving board.

We played mini golf on the morning we went to the lake because it was too cold to swim and we were waiting for it to warm up a bit.

The kids didn't spend a lot of time swimming in the lake, but they did play in the sand.  I got to go kayaking quite a bit and it was really nice.  The lake was smooth and fairly empty of people, perfect for kayaking.

Ellie and Lucy snuggling watching a movie after a day of fun.  We watched moves every night before bed.
We went hiking one day and the kids were awesome.  It was perfect weather for hiking, not too cold but also not too warm.  My mom was with and brought Jake and was  loved by everyone we met on the trail.
We found a patch of snow.

We had a really great June.  It was really busy, but super fun.  I am really glad we were able to take  friends to the cabin with us.  It was so much fun for the kids to be able to be with their friend.
