Maine Day 1

For our 20th anniversary Kyle and I went to Maine for 6 days.  We had so much fun just the 2 of us.  Instead of putting the whole trip in one huge post, I'll post day by day.  We flew into Portland Thursday June 3.  it was a long day of travel and we didn't get to the hotel until almost midnight.  The fun started Friday morning.  We woke up and went to check out Portland head lighthouse.  It was beautiful.

The lighthouse was so pretty.  I love lighthouses and Maine has a lot of them.  There is a small museum in the living quarters and it was very well done.
Our rental car was a Jeep Wrangler.  We had to take a picture to show Liam.
Another shot of the lighthouse.  We aren't so great at taking selfies, but we tried.
That night we stopped off at Old Orchard Beach.  It was a really nice beach with a really cool boardwalk and pier.
In the afternoon we went to Kennebunkport.  We walked around the town and then met Scott and Katie for dinner.  They drove up from New Hampshire and we were able to spend a few hours with them.  It was really nice to see them.  We got pizza and ate it on the beach.  Then we drove around and looked at the mansions.  After that we got ice cream and walked around town.

Here we are with Walker Point (the Bush home) behind us.

A really cool church we found of our drive.

We had an incredible lunch in Portland before we headed to Kennebunkport.  Kyle had a lobster roll and I had the most amazing sweet potato fries.

Another shot of Portland Head Lighthouse.

Portland Head Lighthouse is in a park with some old battery ruins and war memorials.  This is one of the memorials.

The pictures are out of order, but we had a great first day.
