June

 We've had a busy June.  The pictures posted backwards, but that's 

Liam has spent a lot of time being the only boy around, so today Kyle took him fishing in the Uintas.  They left at 5:00am hoping that an early start would mean they would catch something.  My Dad was at the cabin and he met them at Trial Lake.  Liam caught 2 fish and my Dad caught 3.  Liam was super excited about his catch.

They also went on a hike to Fehr Lake and Shepard Lake.

Tonight they went to a REAL soccer game.  It's been a good guys only day.

This past week Liam, Ellie, Claire, Lucy (Ellie's friend) My mom and dad, and myself headed to the cabin.  We had a great week.  Thursday was a little cold and rainy, but by the evening it had cleared up and we were able to play outside.  We played cornhole and played on the swings and climbing structure.

There were also several tetherball games that happened.

While it was raining we went to lunch and then drove around the entire lake.  When we got into Laketown it stopped raining and we got milkshakes.  Here the girls are by the dinosaur in front of the gas station/ milkshake shop.

We also played lots of games.  We taught Lucy how to play Yahtzee.

Wednesday we went to the lake.  It was cloudy and windy in the morning, but beautiful after lunch. We stayed for 5 1/2 hours and kayaked and paddleboarded a lot.

We drove up Tuesday morning but my parents didn't get there until 11:00 that night.  We stayed up waiting for them and the kids got a little silly.  The moon was full and gorgeous. 

We got Ellie and Lucy matching Pjs.  They looked so cute.

The girls also painted.  They are so cute together.  Ellie and Lucy are such cute friends and have so much fun together.

We went to the lake in the afternoon.  We didn't take any toys, but the kids had fun swimming.

They skipped lots of rocks.  Since the lake is so low they could walk out really far.  I had to remind them to pay attention to where they were because it was so shallow that they could end up too far out if they weren't carefull.

Claire didn't swim, but she still had fun in the sand.

When we got to the cabin we took our stuff into the cabin and then went to Bridgerland Adventure Park to go tubing.  We were hoping to go back with Macha Thursday, but it was too cold and rainy.

Everyone had so much fun and we were lucky because it wasn't very crowded so we didn't have to wait in any lines.

For girls camp this year our ward was planning to go to St. George for some hiking and boating.  The week of camp the entire state was going through a heat wave and it was going to be 115 degrees in St. George.  The bishopric was really worried and the heat so they started looking into other options.  Kyle and I discussed it and my parents generously allowed the camp to happen at the cabin.  Things turned out really well, better than anyone could have imagined.  I'll post pictures and everything later.

Liam, Macha and I were planning on going to the cabin while everyone else was at girls camp, but we had to change our plans.  Girls camp was thurs. june 17- sat june 19 so Wednesday june 16 the three of us went to the cabin for the night to make sure everything was really for the girls.

My mom by the sign that is out in front of the cabin.  She has to have eye surgery next month so she's been wearing a pirate patch so she can see until then.

Liam found this hat at the bottom of the lake when we were kayaking.  He got in the water and retrieved it and I cleaned it up and it is a really nice hat.

We kayaked for 1 1/2 hours and it was amazing.  The lake was calm, no wind and very few boats.  The water was so clear we could see to the bottom.

My mom sang pirate songs the entire time.  

 We were tired and enjoyed the afternoon.  

It was a quick trip, but had a really nice time.

Friday I took Liam and his friend Tyler to the water park.  They had so much fun and we stayed as long as we could.  The boys finally got out of the water when the lifegaurds kicked everyone out.

We have been to Cowabunga Bay a lot so far.  A bunch of Ellie's friends got season passes so I got her one.  I also got one for Liam and myself.  The kids have a lot of fun.  Ellie has a good group of friends.

 

We've had a really great month, although there has been some fighting.  We have really struggled with Liam's blood sugar for the last month and it makes him pretty miserable and cranky.  He gets upset easily and Ellie likes to poke the bear.  We'll get through it but I had to document our struggle so that I know not everything was great all the time.  It's good to remember the hard times and well as the good.  This month has definitely had it's hard moments along with some great moments.

Maya also got her ACT results back.  She did really well.  She scored a 34.  The first time she took it she got a 30, so this was quite an improvement.  She studied hard and her work paid off.
